    Hi,

I have fitted the capacitors supplied with this kit and the TV is much improved but still goes back into standby without warning but now much less often than before, do you think I need more capacitors

    thanks, Terry

    Hi Terry,

Before we start to install more new Capacitors to the Board look at the solder connections on the four Devices fixed to the aluminium Heat Sink right next to the new Capacitors you have just installed, try re soldering these solder connections even those which appear fine, these are prone to failure following the handling received during the repair process, don’t forget to include the solder connections holding the Heat Sink itself in place. Also check the solder joints on the three yellow Transformers, the large Transformer inside the black plastic shield diagonally opposite to the Capacitors you replaced, and finally check and re solder the solder joints on the two round torroidal coils next to the Mains input plug. When you’ve done this replace the TV rear cover and run the TV, get back to me in this Forum if you need further support Terry,

    regards,

    George
